SCARF Celebrates 3rd Anniversary

July 9, 2015

The Shelby County Animal Rescue Foundation is celebrating its three year anniversary this week.  Over the last three years, a small group of concerned pet lovers has worked hard to help the Shelby County Animal Shelter fulfill its goal of helping the abused and abandoned pets in the County.  The group has continued to make strides in their mission to raise funds to support the Shelby County Animal Shelter in safe adoptions, education and community outreach concerning abused and neglected animals, medical procedures, eliminating euthanasia of adoptable animals, and maintaining best practices.

Building a PAWSitive Future Update!

Two New Board Members

The Shelby County Animal Rescue Foundation is proud to announce the addition of two new
Board Members to their team – Deb Hovestreydt and Traci Milanese. “Our new board
members have a range of expertise in public relations, fundraising, and business that will be
invaluable to SCARF and our mission,” said Eric Barr, President of SCARF. “I am confident that
with their leadership we’ll have the opportunity to enhance the reach and impact of our
programs, benefiting the many needs of the animal shelter."

SCARF 1st Press Conference

Eric Barr, President of the new organization, spoke on their behalf and outlined the purpose for SCARF.  He stated “I am excited to announce the formal establishment of the Shelby County Animal Rescue Foundation which represents the culmination of months of planning and preparation, and marks a significant moment in the future history of Shelby County’s approach to the care for, and ultimate prevention of, homeless animals.”
